old Number 1

An American Lager brewed in the tradition of Prohibition style lagers using Pilsner Malt and flaked rice. This beer is similar in style to the Premium Lager brewed by Mundelein’s original Brewery, Zeeman’s that was destroyed in a tornado in the 60's and never rebuilt. Today we brew it in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of Old Number One, the 1926 Stoughton Fire Truck that continues to display the proud heritage of Mundelein.
